On this day in Sports History...

Joe Montana became the fifth quarterback to surpass the 40,000 yard mark with the Kansas City Chiefs. Arguably one of the best quarterbacks to play the game, Montana won four Super Bowls with the 49ers and was selected to eight pro bowls. This man changes the way the game was thought of and played. The passing game has evolved from Montana on to today where the league is pass first. Not to mention he was part of one of the most infamous plays in playoff history, "the catch". Montana changed the game and will forever be a major figure when talking about the history of the NFL.
